Title: The wrong or right choice

In a island, there live a man. He was living in a hut alone. Everyday he will just grow his crop, and life was very normal and simple. He got no wishes, no ambition. All he thinks of was to continue without changes.
One particular day, he meet a lady who was doing her laundry at the lake. She was elegant. They have a good chat at the lake.
They seem to be soul mate, who was fated to meet each other at the lake. Although both of them were poor, but they enjoyed the time together. They were satisfied enough by just meeting each other at the lake.
The lake was beautiful and lovely to them, because it the place they met. The man soon has a goal, to give joy and take care of the lady. He proceed with his goal by work hard on his farming, so he can earned a better living. So to support the lady's need. So both of them have a better living condition.
But happy times don't last. Soon the island was colonize by a country which then develop everything in the island. Previously everyone lived in hut, life is simple, trading crop in the city. But now schools, market, and house made by brick were built. Everything changes in the midst of everyone simple life.
The couple was affected by the completely diverse. The man rejected the whole changes, but the lady accepted. Their perception crossed. After hesitation, the man left the island unwillingly, leaving his love behind, since the lady don't share his opinion. After everyone in the island have been settle with the diverse. The man returned. His return was only to see the lady, and hopefully to live a simple life with the lady again.
But when he sees the lady. His hope destroyed. The lady changed. After receiving education and widen her friend network. Although they still chat at the lake, but the man was not happy anymore. They no longer think the same, share the same frequency. And worst, the lady was not so easy approached like previously. She have tons of friends. The man always has difficulty meeting with the lady, even they met, topics that she was saying, was a clueless to the man.
But he didn't blame her, because it was him who choose to left her during the change. And he understand that different people will obtain different perception. He can only put the blame to himself. And he have in mind was "
am i obstructing her?, am i a nuisance?, should i leave her?, i left her when she needed company, do i still have the rights to have her by my side?" He question himself everyday.
His answers was : yes i am obstructing her, yes i am a nuisance, and i am so selfish to left her when she needed company. I don't deserve to have her by my side anymore."
Although the lady corrected him in their conversation about the matter, she told him that he is thinking too much. time will fill the gap. but he just can't take the words of hers. He is not convinced. A serious thought, made him leave her again. This time it forever. The lady was depressed upon the leaving of the man. The man left a letter at her desk saying "
My dear, you are the only one who gave me hope and my goal, with you around everything is beautiful, even the most tedious job i worked for, with you around they are no longer suffering. But now, i choose to leave my love, my joy, my goal behind. i apologize for my selfishness. I left you when you are helpless, i don't deserve you anymore. If you are enjoying now please continue, if not please do. You created my beautiful memory And that will be my only memory in my life. Goodbye."
The man left in the silence, nobody knows.
The lady proceeded with her life.
The lake and the letter is the only memory of the man.......
The reason why the man left, will be left to your own thinking.
